A Moment Of Being Grateful – A Strong Boy

Today I had met a patient, he is so young (below 25 years old),  but came with a neckline (haemodialysis catheter), for RCF (radiocephalic fistula) later.

I ask him:

“When you got it? The renal failure?”

He said,” I know when I was 16 years old.”

” Do you know why you have renal failure? “

” I think that is because I had taken plenty of medication when I was young.”

” How young are you that time?”

“7 or 8 years old, probably… ” He seems so helpless…

“Then why you need to take so many medications? You are so small that time!” I am getting curious and wondering why parents serve him so many medications…

” After doing ear surgery, the doctor gave me a lot of medication.  ” He points at his hearing aid, and said,”I can’t hear since I was born…”

At that moment, I become speechless…

I do not pity him, he is accepting what is happening to him, and be strong. At first I look at him, he is no different than a usual healthy man.

I just want others to know…

Not everyone is so lucky to have a complete body and function…

Be grateful for what you have, Healthy is a Gift from the God, be thankful to our parents also, to protect and raise us up safely with their life.

Let’s pray for him,

“You will find your way out and please get well soon.”
